Cliff
flights from Tracy are within walking distance with your rig on your
back, and on a good day you can fly the 17km to the American
Cemetery, past the Longues gun battery, the Le Buffey launchsite,
across Port en Bessin, on towards the American landing beaches…and
all the way back. The Le Bouffay launchsite is rather better furnished,
and both sites offer beach landings at low tide .

Le Bouffay plays host to Paris based ELEMENTAIR (www.elementair.fr)
paragliding school during the summer, who can give you your first
experience with a Tandem flight, start you on your pilot qualifications,
or brush up your technique depending on your level.

There is a small nursery slope inland at Creully, and an hour inland
opens up all the possibilities of Swiss Normandy. Staying on the coast
and heading an hour East gets you to Cabourg and Villers sur Mer close
to Deauville, with even more exciting cliff flying.
It has been known for certain pilots to install wife and family here
at Normandy Beach, and then sneak off themselves to the site offering
the day's best flying, while family chill out here on the beach. Not
that we'd suggest such a thing!

Flexible accommodation here means that we can look after groups of
pilots, and we are quite happy to "cram" rooms with extra beds to
keep costs down, BBQ,s in the courtyard make for a fine end to a day
spent playing with the seagulls, and you can use our kitchen to sort
out an evening meal…..if we haven't already got it on the stove for
you.
Wet canopy after a dodgy beach landing? Hose it off and dry it under
the bike sheds... that 30 ft washing line isn't there for socks you
know! |
